God as our Kinsmen Redeemer
Sometimes a destitute person or family loses valuable property, freedom or even their place in the family and an inheritance. The Law provided in Leviticus 25:25, an expectation for the nearest relative of such a person or family to redeem or restore what was lost. This person was known as a Kinsmen Redeemer. As humans, we each find ourselves spiritually bankrupt, in bondage to sin and orphaned without our intended spiritual inheritance. We desperately need a Kinsmen Redeemer to redeem and restore what we’ve lost, but no human relative can help us out of our destitute spiritual condition. We have a God who was willing to become our human relative so that He could be our Kinsmen Redeemer and restore us. Praise the Lord! (Scripture: Colossians 1:15-23)
