Committed to Testing the Spirits
There were false prophets in the first century, but there are also false prophets today. A prophet is anyone who claims to have a word from the Lord. They often claim to give God’s thoughts on current events. John helps us understand how to test the spirits. He gives us the confidence to vigilantly watch out for false teachers, who claim to speak on God’s behalf. (Scripture: 1 John 4:1-6)
