Committed to Truth
Being loyal to Jesus requires maintaining a commitment to the fundamental truth about his identity. Unfortunately, John’s audience had people who were “trying to deceive” them and lie to them about Jesus. There continue to be false teachers and “antichrists” today. Which is why the church must always be deeply rooted and grounded in the truth of the Gospel. (Scripture: 1 John 2:21-25)
